An Oncology Center situated in the United States of America.
The Task
Our client, an Oncology Center wanted a solution that would enable them to communicate
with an existing Practice management Application to further process patient details
to enable calculations of drug dosages maintain records and process this data right
to the final submission of the preauthorization forms to the IPA’s and Groups.
The Solution
Binary Spectrum’s solution was to migrate, the patient’s details from
the Practise Management Software and allow the encounter to be recorded on their
implementation. This enabled the calculation of the BSA (body surface area) values
to generate the dosages for the drug administration. CPT and Diagnosis management
was also made available. By importing data from a mixture of sources Binary spectrum
implemented faxing of form for each individual IPA in its own distinctive format.
Another additional feature that was implemented was the tickler which tracked the
Authorization status.
The Result
Binary Spectrum generated a user friendly interface that
would allow the capture of the patients vitals to be done by the not so technology
savvy Nursing staff and then enable the authorization department fill out details
of the treatment which would automatically pre populate the authorization form of
each these groups in their own unique format. These could then be faxed to the Groups
at the press of button. A tickler feature was provided which enabled the authorizations
to be tracked and the client could have the system send them email notifications
on the status of these authorizations on a daily basis
