| HL7 integration: Folder based Approach |
| Client |
| A healthcare group situated in the United States of America. |
|
| The Task |
| The requirement was to bridge two heterogeneous systems to ensure seamless information flow between either of them. Work flow integration was required to ensure that state and transactional changes from time to time got reflected in corresponding systems. These Health Care solutions include a Practice Management Software with the ability to manage the Appointment Scheduling and end to end billing activity for a practice and an EMR with the ability to manage the clinical workflow of the practice. The appointments and patient information on change had to be instantly delivered to the EMR system to update the physician’s schedule and at the end of the encounter the billing codes had to flow back to the billing system for claim processing. The solution needed to be user friendly and secure as it would be handling sensitive patient information. |
|
| The Solution |
| Binary Spectrum proposed a solution that would implement a folder based approach using the HL7 format to sync the data between the practice Management System and the Electronic Medical records applications in terms of Patients, Scheduling, Charting and Charges for the exchange. |
|
| The Result |
| For each updated newly created patient registration and scheduling record, Binary spectrum made a file to get created in the respective folders and these files are picked up by a service to ensure that the details are recorded in the database of EMR. |
